Restore Greyed out Options on a Blackberry Phone in Desktop Manager
Blackberry desktop manager can block you from restoring a single database to your blackberry such as your contacts. This is because the blackberry is syncing to blackberry services and takes precedence. This guide shows you how to temporarily turn of blackberry desktop sync and restore your settings.
Restore Read-only Settings to a Blackberry
- When trying to restore you will most likely see your option greyed out like below
- Open the the menu on your Blackberry then open options
- Open Advanced Options
- Open Service Books
- Scroll to Desktop [SYNC] and open the options menu. Now select Delete
You will now be able to restore your backup
Restore Syncing
- When you have restored your settings return to the Service Book menu and on any item, option the options menu and select Undelete
