The cause is very simple and you can probably guess from the error code in the screenshot above. The cause is that Windows cannot verify the files.

Guys I found the solution just wanted to share with you guys.
I had the same problem with 3 computers Dell OptiPlex 330 Desktop, HP Nc6400 Laptop, Toshiba Laptop the problem is with the burning and Nero can’t fix that because I burned around 20 DVD’s using nero in different speeds didn’t work for me.
Just Download ImgBurn from (www.imgburn.com)after Downloading and Installing use the software to write your Windows 7 ISO File.
Open the software and Click on the first Button (Write image file to Disc).
Select the ISO File by clicking on the Plus sign where it says pleas select a file.
Click on Browse button at the top right corner and select the ISO File and Click OK.
Set the Write speed to 2.4x and Click on Write button at the left button of the page the (The CD and File Icon).
Now it is done you can use this DVD to install you Windows 7 it doesn’t give any corrupted error.

My friend forgot her password to get into her computer and can’t figure it out, so IO was told the only thing we could do is re-install win vista, she has the original copy and an upgrade, and when I try and reformat and install, it gets part way through and I get the error code 0×80070017. neither copy will work, the cd is clean, I checked it. All the fixes I’ve read say it is a bad burn or I need to go into the computer and delete/fix files, but since we cant get into her computer, I am not able to do this.. I’m stumped. Any solutions?
You can get past vista password; but it sounds like its too late.
The error code is very much a bad copy of a cd, if you have another pc you can try and copy the files off.
Then install from a USB stick
First of all you need to create ISO file of your CD you can do that using ISO Buster or Power ISO available for download online then use ImgBurn Download ImgBurn from (www.imgburn.com)after Downloading and Installing use the software to write the the New DVD make sure to select the write speed 2.4X that is must other wise the New DVD won’t work for you I had the same problem that was the only way I fixed the issue.
