Disable Automatic Virus Scanning for Firefox Downloads
Firefox when it has finished downloading a file automatically it will scan it using a basic in-built engine. This is very slow and usually redundant as most people have a real time antivirus solution. This guide shows you how to disable it.
Disable Antivirus Scanning
- Open Firefox and in the address bar type about:config
- Then confirm you won’t break anything
- next type in browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
- Double click the setting to change it to false
