Disable Cached Domain Login When Using XP/Vista/7
In Windows when connecting to a domain the default behaviour is to cache the domain login. This is so Windows can login locally if the domain is not available. This can be disabled so the computer can only login when connected to the domain.
Instructions
- Open the Start Menu
- In XP open the Run, In Vista/7 type in the search box Regedit
- When regedit opens navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Change cachedlogonscount to 0 in order to disable logging in when not connected to the domain.
