Disable Search Indexing Windows 7
Windows Search takes up valuble resources to save a few seconds when searching for a file. As many users rarely or never use Windows Search to find files, Disabling this can recover performance.
Instructions
- Open the Start Menu
- Type Services.msc into the search box and open the program
- Locate the service called Windows Search
- Double click on it and change the startup type to Disabled
- Stop the service and click ok
