Disable Search Indexing Windows 7

Windows Search takes up valuble resources to save a few seconds when searching for a file. As many users rarely or never use Windows Search to find files, Disabling this can recover performance.

Instructions

• Open the Start Menu
• Type Services.msc into the search box and open the program
• Locate the service called Windows Search

• Double click on it and change the startup type to Disabled
• Stop the service and click ok
