Do You Get USB Device “Error 10 Cannot Start”?

If you are here you are probably experiencing a “STOP 10″ error with your USB device. There are many reasons this can occur from bad drivers to non-powered USB hubs.

Instructions

  • First off check the USB Device in another PC or another USB port! This will elimate a faulty USB Device and save you some time. If the device works on another PC proceed to the next step. The front and back USB ports are usually a different controller and may work on one if the other is faulty.
  • Check there is only one USB device plugged in to the port and you are not using a non-powered hub. Also check that if you are using a power intensive device that you are using it plugged in as well.
  • Update your Chipset Drivers. First off go to your PC manufacturers website and download the latest drivers for your motherboard or chipset.
