Shortly after installing Win Essentials security, routine security checks showed Win Defender was OFF. Not by my hand! Attempts to restart it via services failed (got that same cryptic alphanumeric error message) and via the useless Windows Defender popup, a senseless loop where clicking restart it froze the system. After banging my head against the bizarre rabbit warren MSFT calls “Help”, finally googled to find some threads saying that the idiots at microsoft apparently disable Win Defender if you install Win Essentials. I haven’t verified that, but if true, why the #@*!% couldn’t those morons create an error subroutine that pops up a simple message SAYING that instead of generating cryptic error messages. Classic microsoft inanity.
