Easily Troubleshoot a Remote PC running Windows 7
Every one has been there. A relative rings up with a problem with thier computer. Not being one your used to working on and your relative is not so good at PCs you cannot workout how to fix the problem.
Well your inluck! If the remote PC is running Windows 7 there is a new program for recording the screen including screen shots and mouse clicks that can be easily emailed. Read on to find out how!
Windows Problem Steps Recorder
- Open the Start Menu and in the search bar at the bottom type in PSR and open
- Problem Steps Recorder will open.
- Open the drop down menu and change the settings. Set the Output save location
- Click Start Record
- Then they can work through the error and click Stop Record
- A zip file with a MHTML file will be outputted and saved to the set location
- Ask them to send this to you by your favorite method
- Open the MHTML file in Internet Explorer and look at the steps!
