How to Delete the Windows.old Folder after a Windows 7 Upgrade
If you upgrade to Windows 7 from an unsupported version of Windows all your files will be moved into a Windows.old file. Some of these files have permissions and file access that can stop you from deleting the folder when you are done with it. This article will show you how to delete the folder using inbuilt Windows tools.
Instructions
- Open the start menu. Type in DISK and open Disk Cleanup
- Choose the drive with the Windows.old folder on.
- Then click Clean up System Files at the bottom of the screen
