How to Disable Windows Defender in Windows 7
This guide explains how to disable Windows Defender. Windows Defender is now included by default in Windows 7. Running multiple Antivirus/Malware on a computer in realtime can cause problems. It can also slow the computer down. If you have a third party solution you would rather use or just want to disable Defender then read on.
Disable Windows Defender
- Open the start menu and type services.msc
- Scroll down to the Windows Defender service and right click
- Select properties and then change the startup type to Disabled
- Click Stop and then ok
Disable Action Center Warnings
- open the start menu and type action center
- Click on settings in the left hand corner
- Uncheck Spyware and related protection
- Save and reboot
