How to Fix Error Code 80048821 When Signing into Windows Live Messenger

When you try to sign in to the Windows Live Messenger Service you may get the following error code:80048821 and message:

“Sorry, we were unable to sign you in to the .NET Messenger Service at this time. Please try again later. 80048821

This is a quick and simple one to fix!

Solution

• Click Start -> Run and type (in Vista and 7, Type it into the search box)

regsvr32 Mssip32.dll

• Repeat the first step with the next two commands

regsvr32 Initpki.dll

regsvr32 Softpub.dll

• Now Reload Messenger!
