sysprep is mostly for businesses, but there is no problem using it.
sysprep puts the OS back to factory so when you boot it does the oobe (out of the box experiance)

Thanks heaps.

Your instructions worked. Microsoft's didn't - in fact Microsoft's screwed up so badly that I had to reinstall the reference machine from scratch again.

Many thanks. I now have a 16GB USB stick with an image which includes more than 40 applications.

Follow this guide to set a default profile http://benosullivan.co.uk/windows/how-to-copy-profile-in-windows-7-for-default-domain-netlogon/
Windows is basicaly installing itself fresh, it will overwrite built-in profiles

this worked for me.. but the image deployed doesn't preserve the profile settings & customizations I made to the Administrator user..

Ideally I'd like to autologin as Administrator & want my customizations applied to be deployed by this image ....

Any pointers to this pls ???

Hi
I didn't realise that "My Windows partition" needs to be
stated as Drive D:
The capture finally completed but when i reboot the pc at "Setup is starting services" the is an Install Windows error:
"Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer"
After a restart it just gets to the same point again, so now the pc is unusable and i cannot get to the new Install.wim file.
