How to View Email Headers in Outlook 2010
Tracking down where an email came from can be very important in a security role. This can be done by viewing the email headers. In Outlook 2010 the email headers are hidden behind a few menus. This guide will show you how to view them.
View Email Headers in Outlook 2010 (Opening Email)
- Open the email you wish to view the headers for. Then click the File menu.
- Click the Properties button in the menu
- A new window will open and it will show you the headers
Add a Shortcut (No Opening of Email)
- Click the down arrow at the top of the ribbon and select More Commands
- Change the drop down box to All Commands
- Search for message options then click add
- Finally select the email you wish to view and click the new icon
