Increase Streaming Buffer in Windows Media Player 12
Windows Media Player by default doesn’t buffer much networked content. This can be a pain if you transfer files across your network of have uneven bandwidth. This guide shows you how to increase the default buffer in WMP 12.
- Hold down ALT on the keyboard to open the file menu
- Click Tools then Options
- In options click the Performance tab
- Change Network Buffering to a higher value (default 5 seconds)
