View System Uptime in Vista and Windows 7
It can be very useful to find the current time the system has been booted up. This time can also be inaccurate if the system goes in to standby or shutdown. Read on to find out two ways to find out how long your system has been running.
Instructions
Find System Uptime
- Right click the taskbar and select Start Task Manager
- Change to the performance tab and under system is listed the Up Time
Find System Boot Time
Finding the system uptime does not provide an accurate time. If the system has been set to go to hibernate or standby. This method shows the boot time and is not reset if the system goes to sleep
- Open the Start menu and in the search box enter:
cmd /k systeminfo | find "System Boot Time"
