How to Disable Auto Renewal for Xbox Live

Xbox live is a great service but if you add your credit card it will keep charging it for your package when you renew. You cannot remove your credit card information. But you can tell it to stop auto renewing and then you can revert to Xbox Live Silver or Redeeming codes.

  • Login to your Xbox Live account at Xbox.com
  • Go to the membership page and click on Membership Level
  • Microsoft have hidden a link to change Auto Renew as seen below

  • There are a few hoops to jump through, keep clicking next at the bottom of the page and you will get the option to turn it off

    I got caught out with this aswell! Went on vacation and came back to find out I had been billed for the service when I wasn’t even using it less. Needless to say I was less than impressed!

    iirc, the latest dashboard update finally added the feature to disable auto renewal….can anyone confirm this remarkable & much needed feature?
